ADVENTURES IN WRITING AND PUBLIC SPEAKING
We will be doing academic presentations this week. Hopefully at least three per class.
See y'all there!
For this week,
First, make sure you are familiar with this announcement.
Second, I have revised the rules for the bibliography of your academic presentations.
Third, we will continue academic presentations (hopefully 3 in each class this week).
See y'all in class!
I've finally recovered enough from my dread illness and we have to get
moving on presentations. With that in mind I've revived this scheduling aid.
I've already pencilled in those whose outlines are ready for presentation and I
strongly recommend presenting sooner rather than later. Each group is in a
different situation so I'll address them separately.
All students need to get outlines to me as soon as possible. I'm hoping to do at
least three presentations in each remaining class and that won't work without
ready outlines.
Group 1
You have five weeks to get through up to 15 students. and there's no reserve
for May 26 yet.
Group 2
In the best position so far. Five weeks to get through up to 14 students (and maybe
use an empty slot for someone from Group 3.
Group 3
In the toughest spot. Just four weeks to get through up to 17 students. I have
no problem having an extra class to fit everybody in but only if no scheduled
class time is wasted by students not being ready.
So…. all students' outlines are due now. Send them to me with all possible
speed!
Waiting impatiently for outlines.....
Unfortunately, I have to cancel class again on Thursday, May 14, 2026.
With any luck I will be back in class next week.
See y'all then!
Unfortunately I'm still not quite well enough to have class on Tuesday. The fate of class on Thursday, remains undecided.
I am feeling very under the weather and think it wil be a mercy to all concerned if I cancel class this Thursday.
See y'all next week!
This week, we begin Academic Presentations!
Therefore, it is worth nothing that the procedure in class for them is slightly different than for the General Interest Presentation. These changes are meant to make the presentation a bit more like the exam.
